Jan loves the color blue as evident by the tint of blue in almost every area of the home: from the robin’s egg print in the family room to the blue walls of the living room and dining room. Blue is a great inspiration for an enjoyable space. It was a very fulfilling experience incorporating existing pieces from her prior home with the new window treatments and wallpapers to achieve such a beautiful result!
Living Room/Dining Room: Refined elegance yet comfortable is the theme here. Blue with white Newstyle shutters give it that classic charm. Family Room: From the pale blue, white and taupe banded draperies to the soft blue on the ceiling. What a great space to enjoy friends and family. Tying in some existing furniture pieces to make a comfortable room. Master Bedroom: Jan didn’t want a frilly pastel look to this room, but wanted a soft masculine feel. This was accomplished with a neutral palette and color on the ceiling. The blackout drapery, with the tufted pearl leather fabric makes a great functional window treatment. The wallpaperat the entry is a great softer floral in those same neutral tones. Office: Great space for working, reading and organizing. The Heritance Handcrafted Shutters make the perfect choice for controlling the light, to be able to work and see computer screens while still enjoying the beautiful outdoor view. Guest Room: Shoes, shoes, shoes… what a novel paper featuring shoes in a geometric pattern. Black and white with a splash of lime green is the color palette in this room. Guests will love it! Jan loves the feel of wallpaper in a guest room for a more intimate feel. Hall Bath: Jan wanted movement in the paper, like at sea. Sophisticated coastal feel is the look here. Lower level: The paint color and wallpaper from the upper hallway continue into the lower level creating a sense of one space. The addition of chalkboard paint makes it a fun place for kids and adults. “It’s always about the layers. That’s what makes me and everyone that comes into our home smile.” Jan H.
