The Design Edit: October 2026

Rich Layers, Considered Details

Every month, our design team looks across what’s new from our vendor partners and pulls out what feels genuinely worth specifying. This month, we’re leaning into richer color, tactile materials and patterns that bring depth and character to a room.

From Phillip Jeffries’ latest collection of natural textures to Liberty’s richly layered interiors, October is about creating spaces that feel collected over time. We’re also welcoming Isidore Leroy to JC Licht, bringing a distinctly French perspective and a beautiful range of historic, artistic and material-inspired wallcoverings.

And our Color of the Month takes that mood in a deeper direction: Navy Masterpiece, a bold blackened teal that brings architectural depth and a strong sense of history to a space.

Here’s what we’re specifying and why.

JC Licht Designer's Color of the Month · Benjamin Moore

Navy Masterpiece — 1652

There’s something especially compelling about a color that can make a room feel instantly grounded.

Navy Masterpiece is a bold, blackened teal with an unmistakable depth. Its low LRV of 9.14 gives the color a dramatic presence, while its blue-green undertone keeps it from feeling flat or overly heavy. Benjamin Moore describes it as conveying a strong sense of history and architectural relevance.

It’s the kind of color that works beautifully when you want to create atmosphere. Use it on walls for a dramatic backdrop, on cabinetry for a more tailored look, or alongside warm woods, natural textures and patterned fabrics for a layered interior.

Phillip Jeffries

Journey · Fall 2026

Phillip Jeffries’ Fall 2026 collection, Journey, looks to the natural materials and craft traditions that have influenced the brand since its beginnings.

The collection brings together Japanese and European influences through highly tactile materials and refined surface treatments. Highlights include embroidered raffia, grasscloth mosaics and ethereal landscape murals, creating wallcoverings with plenty of texture and visual depth.

There’s something particularly useful about this kind of collection for fall projects. Rather than relying solely on color to create warmth, texture does much of the work. Natural fibres, dimensional surfaces and subtle variation can give a room depth without making it feel overly decorated.

Isidore Leroy

A New Vendor at JC Licht

We’re excited to welcome Isidore Leroy to JC Licht.

Founded in France in 1842, the house brings together historic designs, contemporary artwork and highly decorative wallcoverings. Its collections range from traditional floral and figurative motifs to panoramic landscapes and contemporary collaborations.

One of the more distinctive directions is the brand’s material-inspired wallpaper. Designs reinterpret surfaces such as aged wood, mineral stone, marble, woven straw and textured plaster, creating the visual character of natural materials with the practicality of wallcovering.

For projects that need a little more atmosphere, Isidore Leroy offers plenty of ways to make the walls part of the architecture rather than simply a backdrop.

Liberty of London

Liberty’s The House of Liberty brings the brand’s design history into contemporary interiors, drawing from its extensive archive and the work of generations of artists and designers.

The collection balances richly detailed botanicals and landscapes with geometrics, stripes and decorative motifs. Fabrics include jacquards, woven wools, herringbone linen and tactile velvets, while the wallpaper collection introduces wide-width designs and textured grasscloths.

The overall effect is layered without feeling overly precious. Historic references are reworked through Liberty’s distinctive color palette, making the collection particularly well suited to interiors where pattern, texture and color are meant to build on one another.

It’s pattern with history, but not nostalgia.

Signature

There’s a reason archival patterns continue to find their way into contemporary interiors. The right pattern has already stood the test of time.

Harlequin’s Signature collection revisits some of the brand’s enduring designs and gives them a fresh perspective through updated scales, techniques, color palettes and finishes. The collection spans both wallpaper and fabric, creating opportunities to carry a pattern or visual language throughout a space.

The appeal is in that balance between familiar and fresh. Traditional motifs can bring history and personality to a room, while updated color and scale keep them from feeling predictable.

For designers building a collected interior, this is exactly the kind of flexibility that makes a collection useful.
