The client wanted to transform the master bedroom from the dated yellow floral wallpaper to an inviting and tranquil get away. You’ll see how using the right combination of products and colors can totally transform a room. The before and after pictures below show the transformation: The inspiration for this project was the client’s existing duvet in soft spa blues and greens. Window above bed – Hunter Douglas white 2″ wood blinds. Pillows and bolster were added for color and texture. Bolster fabric by Fabricut. Euro sham fabric by Pindler & Pindler and cording by RMCoco. The focal wall behind the bed was wallpapered with a faux grasscloth in spa blue/green color with a textured feathered grasscloth feel from MDC Wallcoverings. Additional pillow fabrics by Cowtan & Tout and Kravet. Fabrication by A Touch of Fabric. Box Pleated Valance-Fabric by Schumacher. Francesca Stripe, banded with Ashley by Pindler & Pindler. Hunter Douglas Blackout Duette cellular shades stack up beneath the valance to reveal the beautiful outdoor space. Wall paint – Benjamin Moore 1563 (Quiet Moments) in eggshell finish. Tray Ceiling paint – Benjamin Moore 1565 (Mount Saint Anne) in flat finish. The same valance treatment was used for the French Door leading to the patio. Again, Hunter Douglas cellular shades are drawn up to provide the client easy access to the outdoor space. The client was going to replace the blue-green color-washed furniture, but after seeing how well it blended in with the newly decorated space, she decided to keep it.
