Farrow & Ball Flash Sale 2023 | JC Licht

A full line of oil- and water-based exterior stains that set your projects up for success.

When choosing between oil- or water-based stains, considerations should include the type of wood you’re working with, the final aesthetic you’re going for, the weather and climate known to the Chicagoland area, and the amount of time you have before the surface will be returned to use. Oil-based stains provide a deep penetrating formula that enhances wood grain, creating a classic oil finish, while water-based stains deliver beautiful quick drying outcomes with easy soap and water cleanup.

In the Chicagoland region, an oil based stain is preffered to withstand the weather. Choose a water-base stain if you are short on time and need to return your deck to use quicker for an event.
