When a client asks for an “updated 2015 new look,” using all her existing furnishings, (which just happen to be beautifully workable) – ask yourself, what makes the most obvious and impressive impact in a re-decorating scheme? The answer? Paint, wallcoverings, and window treatments! (along with some imagination and enthusiasm) See the results:
Master Bedroom - Serene, comfortable, and a bit eclectic. The oversized bed with client's white comforter, white-washed wood night stand, and mahogany 4-poster bed needed a warm grey wall color with matching soft grey silk drapery panels on nickel rod. Guest Bedroom - Warm mid-tone yellow walls in Mansfield Tan #248 - Benjamin Moore Aura Matte. To balance the grey/yellow tones in the existing bedspreads, a geometric grey & yellow mini print fabric was used in padded cornice with box kick pleats and contrasting cording and pleats in bright yellow. Valance sits over a Hunter Douglas Silhouette shade. Tablecloth in same grey & yellow mini print with contrasting yellow jumbo cording. Accent pillows finish the room. Fabrics-Norbar Fabrics and Mitchell Fabrics. Fabrication by Quiltmaster Inc.

In this 3 bedroom, 2 ½ bath, 2,200 sq. ft. one level condominium, we wanted to achieve a coordinated color palette as the rooms are readily seen from one another. With its abundance of natural light, wood floors, textured carpets, 9′ ceilings, beautiful kitchen, and a well-designed floor plan – the stage was set! Change the plain Jane walls and windows into a sophisticated and comfortable living space!

Neutral and dramatic, the colors range from vanilla, khaki, and deep taupe, to mid-tone yellows and greys. Now add coordinating window treatments, Silhouette shades, Luminette panels, banded side draperies, cornices – and an urban setting was created! The living room space flows into an office area – around into the kitchen providing a true mix of moods!

The kitchen granite and cherry cabinets dictated the contemporary cafe au lait wall color matching curved textured vertical blinds. Topping the 10′ window expanse sits a unique geometric cornice with banding and buttons matching the bar stool cushions and table runner! A great area to meet and greet!

With patterned wallcoverings in all 3 bathrooms,(Yes, I said wallpaper!) the colorways continue now with subtle, bold, and whimsical designs. The dramatic paisley pops in the powder room because those small rooms always benefit from some drama! The other bathroom designs blend beautifully with the adjoining bedrooms – serene greys and washed whites with grey silk draperies, and sunny yellow with printed greys.
